Life Hacks: Introduction

Even though this school year isn't starting out the way we're used to, I'm still excited about this fall. This year, my kids are starting school, at home, with me. And even though I don't really have a clue, I'm excited about the possibilities that come with learning from home.

We're entering a new season for Lil' Res and ResKids, too. And just like school, I'm excited to see what children's ministry will look like over the next few months. We will continue online kids meetings on Sundays and we still have two classes: 11:30am for the younger kids and 1:00pm for the older kids. But we're making a few tweaks too.

You might recall that we started building our own curriculum for the Grades 5 - 7 last year with a focus on teaching the kids the basics of reading and understanding the Bible for themselves. We want to continue on this path for both the younger and older kids. Each week, kids can print out a Bible study worksheet (this one for preschool - Grade 2 and this one for Grade 3 - 7) to fill out as they listen to the weekly lesson. At the end of this sermon series, kids will have a "Life Hacks handbook" that acts as a journal for all they've been learning from Proverbs.

The kids can put together their own binders or pick one up from me. If you and your kids want to put together your own binder, you can print out the first few pages of the Life Hacks handbook here.

In addition, I'll post a two-page weekly devotion every Thursday for families to read and work through at home. This week, we have an introduction to the book of Proverbs with a couple of activities. Click here to access the devotional.
