With broken and sincere hearts, Resonance Church joins our Indigenous friends, our province, and our nation in grieving the recent horrific news surrounding the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.
We grieve for the 215 children, who were created in the divine image of God, and lay in an unmarked grave. We grieve for the families of those innocent, lost children. And we grieve for the generational devastation systemic injustices have inflicted on Indigenous communities across Canada.
As a church community, we want to acknowledge the pain that this unspeakable evil has caused and come alongside those who are grieving and praying for healing. We pause and remember. We search our hearts. And we commit to pursuing and acting toward a more compassionate future for all.
May God show us mercy and fill us with hope.
